Abstract

BACKGROUND : Tobacco is one of the major health threats faced by the world community. about 6 million deaths per year. More than 5 million of these deaths were the result of direct use of tobacco in the form of cigarettes, while more than 600,000 of these deaths were non-smokers who received exposure to secondhand smoke or secondhand smoke. This figure is expected to increase to 35% by 2030 (WHO, 2016)

OBJECTIVE : To determine the relationship between family support and the desire to quit smoking among youths in Gandok Hamlet,

METHODS : This type of research uses quantitative research with adesign cross sectional. Statistical analysis and is a correlational study. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire. with thetest spearman rank.

CONCLUSION: There is a relationship between family support and the desire to quit smoking among youths in Gandok Hamlet, Condongcatur, Depok Sleman, Yogyakarta. There is family support for youth in Gandok Hamlet, Condongcatur, Depok Sleman, Yogyakarta. There is a picture of the desire to quit smoking among youths in Dusun Gandok, Condongcatur, Depok Sleman, Yogyakarta.
