HUBUNGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT DENGAN KEJADIAN PENYAKIT HIPERTENSI DI DUSUN KARANGMOJO DESA PURWOMARTANI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS KALASAN

Background: Hypertension is a condition where a person's blood pressure is above the normal or optimal limit, namely 120 mmHg for systolic and 80 mmHg for diastolic. The prevalence of hypertension according to the diagnosis, the measurement results of taking medication in the population aged 18 years and over in the 2018 Riskesdas results are 34.1%. Compliance with treatment of patients with hypertension is important because hypertension is a disease that cannot be cured but must always be controlled so that complications do not occur which can lead to death.

Objective: To determine the relationship between medication adherence and the incidence of hypertension in Karangmojo Hamlet, Purwomartani Village, Kalasan Community Health Center.

Methods: This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method through cross sectional approach, the population in this study amounted to 1449 people with hypertension. A sample of 94 respondents was obtained using accidental sampling technique

Conclusion: The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between medication adherence and the incidence of hypertension with a significant value of 0.003 < 0.05.
