Abstract
Background: Blindness from cataracts can be prevented with surgery. Surgery often causes patient anxiety. One of the factors that affect the level of anxiety is spirituality which is part of individual coping. The level of spirituality could reduce the anxiety experienced in perceiving something
Objectives: To determine the correlation between spirituality level and anxiety level of pre cataract surgery patients in Rumah Sakit Mata “Dr. Yap” Yogyakarta
Methods: This research was correlative descriptive with cross sectional approach. Samples were taken with purposive sampling technique. The number of samples were 57 pre-cataract one day care (ODC) surgery patients. Instruments used were DSES and HARS questionnaires The study were analyzed using Kendall’s Tau test.
Conclusion: There is a correlation between spirituality and anxiety level of pre-cataract surgery patients patients in Rumah Sakit Mata “Dr. Yap” Yogyakarta
