DETERMINAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA ANAK USIA 0-59 BULAN DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS IMOGIRI I KABUPATEN BANTUL

Background : Stunting is a nutritional problem experienced by toddlers which can cause disruption to growth and development. This happens as a result of unfulfilled nutritional needs in the long term and if it continues it will have an impact on the life quality of children in achieving optimal growth and development.

Purpose : The research aims to determine the determinants of stunting in the Imogiri I Public Health Center, Bantul regency.

Method : This study is a quantitative study using secondary data with the sample amounts of 987 toddlers taken by total sampling and analyzed multivariately using logistic regression.

Result : Multivariate analysis results showed that the low birth weight history (p = 0,046), birth length history (p = 0,000), maternal nutrition status during pregnancy (p = 0,033), and latrine type (p = 0,012) simultaneously contributed to stunting.

Conclusion : Variables contributed to stunting simultaneously was low birth weight history, birth length history, maternal nutrion status during pregnancy, and latrine type. The most dominantly influential variable was the birth length history (OR = 2,446).

Recommendation : Stunting prevention and reduction programs need to be more focused on promotive and preventive efforts.
