Background: Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases that have increased every year. The world's highest hypertension prevelency in Africa is 40%, southeast Asia area of 36% and the lowest prevelency in the Amarika region by 35%. The Asian region of the disease has killed 1.5 million people per year.In Indonesia itself is high enough to reach 32% of the total population of Indonesia.

The Conclusion: No relation level of knowledge about hypertension with the incident hypertension in the elderly at Puskesmas Seyegan Yogyakarta.
